Remember the classics:

- Saw, Shura, they are golden.

It seems that we were warned back in the last century. No, we want to get caught anyway.

The oldest story on this topic that I know took place in the early seventies. In the city market, at the collapse, a special detail was discovered, when installed in black-and-white televisions, they began to reproduce a color image. The person who discovered this magical detail paid crazy money for it - ten rubles, promising to buy whatever else was found. In a day or two, a peasant appeared on the market, looking for where to attach a dozen or two such details, who did not know the prices, but needed money, and willingly sold them at a low price. The next day, crying with happiness, the first buyer bought up on the vine everything he had purchased, vaguely explaining that in the city he came from, there are simply no prices for these details - everyone wants to watch color TV, and again confirming his ardent desire to buy at least a bag. A day later, young guys came to the market, and the sought-after treasures were offered at a price of two or three rubles, arguing that they did not know the prices, but they heard that the part was terribly scarce ... a huckster who paid almost two thousand for him, terrible money for those times. The merchant was already beginning to calculate the profit, but the first buyer who promised to buy all this never showed up again ... One to one story repeated itself, according to rumors, in Afghanistan, where cunning warrants created a stir in the local bazaar around the protective caps of NURS. and who almost got into the car ... The scheme, in short, is one, with weights, with coins ...

Don't get caught! Good luck!

In the story of the greatest swindler of all times and peoples, a story about golden weights was described. Perhaps this is where the scam started.

It's strange that there are so few answers. Besides the first answer, there is another version. Whether it's true or not is up to you. If I am not mistaken, it was written that this fraud scheme appeared for the first time in Kazakhstan. Fraudsters posted an ad on Avito and other sites with ads, a la "I will exchange a house / car / other real estate for the n-th number of Soviet tumblers". Guided by the fact that pure gold is hidden in these weights. And then another announcement was submitted from the scammers, about the sale of exactly the same weight, for the n-th amount of rubles. People lost their heads and bought these weights in bags, but unfortunately no one ever changed their homes for weights.

Strange, of course, but there were people who fell for such tricks. This scheme still works, only now scammers are wielding smaller items, for example, books. An old book, found in my grandmother's chest, is laid out, again for a certain, often large, amount. This is followed by an ad from a "collector" looking for the exact same book. People who live by finding similar ads and reselling such goods from one hand to another, inspired by the fact that the collector will pay 20 thousand rubles for this book, which he "urgently lacks for the collection", buy a book for 10 thousand rubles and are left with nothing.

Again, strange and funny at the same time, but such people exist. I don’t know why you need the second paragraph, in general, be careful!

Purchase of weights, and it is Soviet (with the "USSR" brand) and precisely "tumblers" (with a flat bottom are not quoted, for example, the precious metal palladium was contained only in tumblers) for very high prices (up to $ 7'000- $ 10 ' 000) is a relatively new type of fraud. First, a fuss is artificially created (which has already been done, for example, the prices for Avito when selling such weights vary from 150,000 to 250,000 rubles), then the arriving seller is asked to pay for chemical analyzes of the metal (the meeting is usually made near a special "chemical laboratory"). Depending on the personality of the seller and the price offered to him for the weight, the cost of chemical analysis reaches $ 200- $ 300, which is the ultimate goal of the scammers.

This scheme is not new. In the 90s, the "correct" Singer sewing machines were bought for very big money in the same way, and the seller had to pay for the services of a master-expert who carried out the "examination" ($ 10-30).

In both cases, a heavy and bulky object is an additional detail that makes it difficult to move freely around the city in search of another chemical laboratory (and with sewing machines - another expert)
