March, 2021Trail running is a cross-country run with elements of cross-country and mountain running. To do them, of course, you first need to have access to forests, fields and hills, on which you can run. Running on the paved paths of the park is not trail running. For trails, it is better to purchase special trainers. If running on asphalt and concrete requires running shoes with good shock absorption (to reduce the likelihood of injury due to the stiffness of the surface), then for trail shoes the most important parameter is traction, for this the sole of the sneakers usually has a pronounced tread (and for winter running on snow and ice also spikes). They also have a stiffer last and there is protection against torsion twisting (the foot should be better fixed, since the ground surface is uneven, there are all kinds of bumps, tree roots, pits, etc.). Trail shoes also tend to have a tighter upper and a protected toe, as rocks can wrap around your feet on the trail. Running in trail running shoes on asphalt is not recommended, they will quickly lose their properties. Better to have different pairs for different types of running. It's also worth remembering that running on rough terrain will always be slower than running on smooth asphalt and requires more concentration. More about equipment: in order not to injure the skin, it is better to run in long-sleeved T-shirts and socks, as it is not always possible to avoid contact with tall grass or tree branches. With regard to training, special attention should be paid to slides and working out the correct running technique from the mountain and uphill.
