My daughter has been dancing since she was 4 years old, now she is 6. The next group is already 11-13 years old, which has been dancing for a long time. A 14-year-old child will not be able to study with them, and against the background of 4-6 kids it will look overgrown. Okay in a dance studio, but at competitions it will probably be completely uncomfortable. 14 years old is too late to start ballroom dancing.

Of course possible. But you will have to go through a number of difficulties, because at the age of 14, the body is no longer as pliable as at 5-7. You will have to, as it were, learn to walk anew, "break yourself" figuratively speaking.

The main thing here is to have a desire and probably fall in love with ballroom dancing.

Of course, if you have been doing any sports before, then this is a plus. The body is already developed and ready to work.

I have a friend who came to the ballroom at the age of 14, by the age of 20 (if I’m not mistaken) she was the world champion, medalist and winner of many European competitions.

You have to be patient and willing, but anything is possible. Also, do not forget that ballroom dancing is not a cheap sport, if you want to practice professionally, then you can go anywhere without funds.

Good luck! Ballroom dancing is a wonderful world, which if you fall in love, it will be forever.

Of course possible! Unlike professional gymnastics, in which athletes end their careers at about 23 years old, ballroom dancing can be successful at 25, 30 or even 40 years old, since there are such competitive categories.

In Europe, for example, the age of 16-18 is the average age of people who begin to practice sports ballroom dancing, and professional athletes and champions also emerge from them. It all depends on your approach to business, and what exactly is success for you. After all, you can dance well at home in front of a mirror, or you can dance at international competitions.

It all depends on what you put into the concept well.

Starting at the age of 14 you are unlikely to become a professional dancer (we are talking about class), but if you practice diligently and regularly, you will achieve serious results. All other things being equal, with 4 workouts per week plus participation in competitions in two or three years, you will most likely take a C class. From the point of view of professional dancers, this is a little better than beginners, but in the eyes of others, you will be very cool. And this one will actually be like this.

Therefore, forward you have everything ahead and everything will work out.

PS: I know the guys who started after 25 and dance in A grade. 5-7 years of training.
