I have a similar experiment "how long can I not take the bathroom" for six months. For the experiment to be objective, it is natural not to tell others about it, since stereotypes about cleanliness are very strong in society, reaching paranoia. Under the selected conditions, underwear is changed 2-3 times a week, outerwear is worn differently, alternating every other day. Hair - yes, wash separately as it gets visually dirty, naturally washing hands after the street and before eating.

Mode: quiet, dusty work, walking 5 km a day, and active training twice a week.

Total debunking of myths: First, there is simply no extra smell, this is confirmed personally and by the environment. Secondly, the skin does not have higher fat content than usual, there is no stickiness and so on. Thirdly, there are no skin inflammations and diseases. Fourthly, high immunity for colds, among my colleagues I am the only one who has never had a cold or missed a single day.

Of course, not everyone can do this, depending on the air quality, the amount of dust and on what set of bacteria a person has on the body. This is also confirmed in one scientific experiment where a person with a foul smell was transplanted "good" bacteria from another odorless person. - After that, the unpleasant odors simply disappeared.

An unpleasant smell from a person may still indicate a malfunction of digestion or improper nutrition.

I lived for several years in conditions without a bath and shower, and a toilet on the street ... I washed my head and feet regularly (1-2 times a week), and I wiped myself with wet wipes and tonics, and in the summer on the street through every two days, and if I worked physically, then I washed more often and since I did not live alone, I can say with confidence that there is no unsanitary condition and stench, but I do not wash if possible more than once a week - I don’t understand this.

If there is no sport and vigorous physical activity, then you can not wash for a week or two without problems. Hair and skin get used to it and do not burn too much. You don't smell the smell yourself. The rest can. In general, our skin and hair is not very conducive to washing, as dermatologists say - it was only 100 years ago that smart guys began to massively sell soap, and before that they also somehow lived.

Daily shower with soap means aging the skin and hair in general. Soap can be used on the body no more than once every 3-5 days. Otherwise, the skin reacts to stress and begins to produce over dofiga fat.

These things are abused by women, as they are generally used to doing everything thoughtlessly and copying everything that can be done without delving into the essence. They wash themselves 2 times a day, after a shower they apply the same fat composition, only artificial - cream. And they become drug addicts / hostages of their stupidity. Forced to spend money on overdofig cream and foolishly waste time on souls.

The more often you wash, the more often you need to wash. This is the rule.

If you do not wash for a long time, the darkness of microorganisms will settle on your body, they will begin to multiply even more, even faster and, therefore, begin to die, and the corpses will remain on the body. If you think that your own microorganisms will protect you, this is not so, no, they will kill microbes, but there are not so many of them to kill all foreign microbes. Plus, do not forget about sweat, a person always sweats, and if you do not take a shower, then you will sweat so much that the pores become clogged, you will be sticky and smelly. And as a result: a huge number of pathogenic microbes, an insignificant number of our own, protecting our body, microorganisms, corpses of microbes, sweat, dirt and stench. Acne, blackheads, etc. appear on the body. Such a person is simply dangerous for others!

Showering every other day or whenever it gets dirty is my advice.

The Mongols during the Great Horde had, and a little later, the belief that washing the body causes rain and lightning in the steppe. And lightning in the steppe is very dangerous. The Mongols washed themselves once a year, with a specific ritual. Anyone who was caught swimming in the river was to be executed. So you don't have to wash - nothing will happen.

You need to wash at least 2 times a day, or at least wipe off with a damp towel, the waste products are absorbed back into the skin, and diseases begin

Personally, I did not ask, and I don’t know if it’s true, but here is an article by ribalych.ru, which describes a person who has not washed for 60 years. And as you can see, in his 80s he feels quite well.

I had a personal experience when for several months (and once a whole year) I did not wash successfully, apart from washing my hands. It is banal to be too lazy to constantly spend time on such a stupid thing as useless showering, which little people do every day again because of their stupidity and in fact only in vain convert drinking water, pouring it into such nonsense many times more than they consume for drinking.

Oddly enough, at the same time remained relatively clean, only clothes had to be changed from time to time. The smell is also not particularly impressive, nothing critical (although some of those around you, of course, think differently ^^).

Well, yes, you should not exaggerate the danger of bacterial contamination of the body in such conditions, cuts and everything like that during this time I have was enough, but none of them led to any complications. We can assume this because bacteria normally live on the skin, either neutral or beneficial, which kill a whole bunch of strangers that will fly onto this skin, and stopping to destroy beneficial microbes with soap, I only allowed them to spread as much as possible.

In general, for a more or less healthy person without HIV / allergies and some other things, there will be no harm to health at all, regardless of the term, unless, of course, to work with some harmful substances that need to be quickly washed off in order to avoid problems (ordinary cigarette smoking, however, too may be such a factor, I noticed again on my own that cigarette smoke, if not washed, gradually forms a whole layer on the skin (as well as on surrounding objects), and this may turn out to be carcinogenic).

Few other things I could remember :

  • lice and similar parasites are more fond of clean skin, on dirty skin it is much more difficult for them to access blood and therefore they will prefer to change the owner to a clean one as soon as possible

  • all modern habits of excessive washing (more often 1 time in 1-2 weeks) are caused only by "fashion" for it and nothing else. purely practically, such a habit is stupidity, and in fact you just "sit and shit for yourself", polluting huge amounts of water with household chemicals, which you yourself then drink after standing in sedimentation tanks, so that at least the appearance again becomes like water

  • hygiene and "shower every day" are completely different concepts. for the purpose of basic hygiene, it is enough to wash your hands, keep the wounds clean and "do not drag bad things into your mouth." Apparently the fashion of the masses for excessive washing is a "side effect" of the spread of hygiene

  • Allergy develops from excessive sterility. roughly speaking, if in childhood you played on the street every day, constantly walked around dirty / ate apples stolen from a neighbor with dirty hands, etc. etc., but your mother did not wash you every half hour, most likely you will not have any allergies as an adult

  • those who live in cold regions very rarely wash, because with chronic -20, somehow it is usually not up to nonsense with a shower. no consequences.

  • a little earlier in the CIS there was a whole subculture of "punks", 90% of whose representatives went dirty for months and also without any noticeable consequences

  • Even earlier, this Steve Jobs of yours in his 20s or 25s "smelled so bad that he was not allowed on buses and planes." However, like many other fanatical computer scientists of those times and today: 3

For their own - only when others harm. Because the smell from you will be stunning in a couple of weeks. If you disagree with me, then you don't take the subway. The biggest risk will be to attract the attention of psychiatrists.

And so, for your health, refusing to shower may even be beneficial. From the point of view of infections, you will be safe - with such a vigorous smell, people will stay away and the risk of airborne infection will significantly decrease. True, it is still better to wash your hands - the fecal-oral route of transmission will still remain. But you can wash your hands without a shower.

In the Middle Ages, after all, they washed only twice: at baptism and before the funeral service. It was a good time - then the slop was simply thrown out of the windows and therefore they wore hats with brims, so against that background the body odor was familiar. You will say “Well, that's exactly why they did not live long,” but I will answer you that in Russia then, unlike in Europe, the bath was very popular, only they lived here not much longer.

Only if you decide to stop wash, I advise you not to shave - on a dirty body shaving very often leads to death from sepsis.
