In principle, sports vitamins are designed for people who regularly experience serious physical activity - they need a larger dose of vitamins than ordinary people. Therefore, sports supplements always contain high dosages of each substance.

However, you were correctly told that fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) are dangerous. As for, for example, vitamins of group B, vitamin C, they do not accumulate in the body, therefore it is almost impossible to achieve an overdose.

There are really good manufacturers of vitamin supplements in the sports nutrition, for example, NOW, NATROL, BIOVEA. These are all American firms, they make a quality product. So if you want to replenish your reserves of vitamin B or C, take a closer look at the products of these companies.

Do not be afraid that the indicated dosages of vitamins are quite large: it is worth considering the fact that often not 100% of the obtained substance is absorbed , especially when there are gastrointestinal diseases.

However, don't experiment with fat-soluble vitamins. Better to consult with your doctor, do tests to understand what your body really lacks.

Vitamins are of two types: fat-soluble and water-soluble. Water-soluble vitamins are safe in almost any dosage, and the excess is easily excreted from the body. Fat-soluble vitamins (A, E and D) in large doses are toxic, and besides, they tend to accumulate in the body.

In "sports" vitamins, dosages are usually greatly overestimated, and most of the "pills" you eat will go safely into the toilet, because even a serious athlete does not need such dosages. In addition, synthetic vitamins are very poorly absorbed.

So if the budget allows, you can take sports vitamins, taking into account the toxicity of large dosages of vitamins A, E and D. But the best option would be to diversify your diet with natural foods and try to get vitamins from them.
