Of course you can, most people come to the pool to learn how to swim. Judging by your logic, everyone who comes to the pool already knows how to swim? In general, swimming pools are created in order to teach people to swim or other water sports. the depths are not great, a comfortable temperature regime is maintained, good visibility is always at hand, and there is always a path at hand that you can grab onto and not drown, in case something happened to you and you cannot stay afloat, I'm not talking about instructors and trainers.
Recently I decided for myself that I need to learn to swim (22 years old). I went and learned (well, I almost learned ... I'm in the process;))
And if your goal, like mine, is to learn, then, in any case, I recommend starting with the choice of pools that are suitable for the location, and then you can start calling them (just call them, because often the pools either simply do not have a website or there may not be information suitable for us on it) and be interested in the availability of individual / group (underline the necessary) swimming training programs, find out the price of the issue, the time of classes .
What do you mean, is it possible?) not possible, but necessary!) I will probably surprise you, but most of those who originally signed up for swimming did not know how to swim. I can tell from my own experience, to my shame I could not swim until I was 20. I thought it was all not mine and just sat on the shore. It turned out to be much easier to learn to swim than it seems. In general, do not waste time, sign up, they will teach you everything, and then you will thank yourself. Swimming develops the whole body, it becomes more resilient and, among other things, water procedures bring pleasure)
Of course you can;) But depending on what purpose and what age you are. For a professional sports career, you need to start from the earliest years, from which they are taken to any sport, or if there is uniqueness and talent, which is rare. And "for yourself" you will be taken to any sports and recreation center and section, where they will teach you to swim. I won't say for sure about paid or free, but in my city passes are bought everywhere if it's not a sports school.
